Kicksology was founded by Penny, a lifelong basketball footwear enthusiast who saw a major gap in the Canadian market.

For years, many of the world’s most innovative basketball shoes — especially models from Way of Wade, Li-Ning, and ANTA — were difficult for Canadian consumers to access. Players often had to import shoes internationally, deal with uncertainty around sizing and authenticity, or simply miss out entirely on some of the best-performing basketball footwear available.

At the same time, the founder’s passion for basketball footwear went far beyond casual collecting. Years of studying shoe construction, cushioning systems, traction patterns, fit profiles, and real on-court performance created a deep understanding of what actually matters to athletes at every level of the game.

That experience became the foundation of Kicksology.
